Pension

The International Painters and Allied Trades Industry Pension Plan (Canada) was established to provide retirement benefits for employees covered under Collective Bargaining Agreements between employers and the Union.

The Plan is registered with the Financial Services Commision of Ontario under the Pension Benefits Act and with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (formerly Revenue Canada) under the Income Tax Act. The registration number is 0587519.

The financing of the Plan is based on employer contributions made on behalf of employees working under the terms of an Agreement. Employees are not required to make any contributions. The contributions to the Plan are held in a trust fund for the sole purpose of providing benefits to eligible participants and to pay for adminstrative expenses.

The Plan is administered by a Board of Trustees, consisting of Union and Employer representatives, who are responsible for the overall operation of the Plan. They serve without compensation. Records and benefit payments are processed at the Fund Office, which is managed by a Fund Administrator appointed by the Board of Trustees.
